Director’s profile

I had played in the semiprofessional league for American football between the age of 22 to 29. The sport always comes with injuries and I have been visiting doctors frequently. However all they did was to take an x-ray photography and prescribe edications, which never helped to cure injuries. It was only after I tried acupuncture when there was a huge improvement on my body. After I got retired as a football player, I decided to progress on a new path of treatment. With my experience and tender care, I hope to cure your problems as well.

■FAQs

Q1. Does acupuncture hurt?

No. Acupuncture needles are very much finer than the needles used for injections. It is even finer than hair. Japanese acupuncture use needles that are inserted extremely lightly. In addition, these needles are made in a way to minimize pain. Most people describe the sensation as a tingling or dull ache.

Q2. Are the needles disposable?

Yes. We use only pre-sterilized single-use needles which are safely disposed of after your treatment.

Q3. What is moxibustion treatment ?

Moxibustion is a form of heat therapy which uses moxa, a soft woolly substance prepared from mugwort leaves . The moxa is burned on or very near the surface of the skin. The intention is to warm and invigorate the flow of “Qi” and reduces stiffness of the muscles.

Q4. How long will it take?

The first treatment will normally be for around 70 minutes and a full history is taken. Subsequent sessions will be approximately 50 minutes.

Q5. How many sessions will I need?

As each person and their condition is unique, the length of treatment differs. Normally weekly at first and once your problems has stabilized you may need top-up treatments every 2 weeks.
